Most browser CNC tools show you G-code you already have.

This one writes it — from your drawing.

Draw the part or import a DXF, paint each line onto an operation, pick the insert and the depth of cut. LATHE-NC produces the G-code, then plays every operation through in 3D — each one inheriting the shape the last one left — so you see the cut before you make it.

See it running

A short overview, plus two demos recorded on the desktop version.

Demo 1: drawing the profile → toolpath
The 25-second overview
Demo 2: toolpath → 3D simulation

Three steps, that's it

No deep setup. Load the drawing, check the cut, output the code.

1

Load a DXF

Open the part drawing straight from your CAD. No drawing on hand? Type the profile in directly.

2

Check it in 3D

Watch the toolpath cut the stock in 3D. You see how the part comes off before it ever reaches the machine.

3

Output G-code

Send the code to the machine. Nose radius compensation is already calculated, so it runs as written.

What it does for you

Nose radius compensation, handled

Leftover stock and gouging on tapers and radii are corrected automatically. All you do is pick the tool you are running. No more working the offsets out by hand.

📱

Runs on your phone

It runs in a browser, so you do not need a PC. Write and check a program on your phone. It sits in your pocket like a calculator, and it is yours.

The four everyday operations

OD turning, ID boring, grooving, and V-belt pulleys. The work that comes back week after week.

🎞

3D cutting simulation

The tool moves and the stock comes away, in 3D. That "I won't know until I run it" feeling goes away.

🌐

Nothing to install

Same environment at the machine, in the office, or at home. Nothing to license per seat, nothing to set up.

Connects to AI tools

MCP support lets AI assistants and other systems drive it. Talk through cutting conditions while the program is being built.

Who I built this for

Anyone starting out with CAD/CAM

CAM has a reputation for being expensive and hard. I wanted to change that. This is a lathe CAM you can just open and try.

Anyone still typing programs by hand

Are you keying the same kind of part into the control every time? Here you load the drawing and you are done.

Anyone stuck on nose radius comp

The taper is out of size, the offset maths will not come right. Hand that part to the CAM and it stops being your problem.

Anyone training a younger hand

The simulation shows how the part is cut, so you can point at a screen instead of explaining it. It lands much faster.

Price

Everything is free while it is in beta.

Pricing for the full release is still being worked out. It will be posted here and on X (@lathe_nc_works) once it is set.

About the developer

LATHE-NC is built by a working CNC multi-tasking lathe operator in Japan. Manual lathes, machining centres, turn-mill machines. I have spent my whole career cutting metal on the shop floor.

Commercial CAM is capable, but it is expensive and there is a lot to learn. Plenty of people have looked at it and thought it did not fit their shop. LATHE-NC goes the other way. Stop re-programming the same part. Make it usable by someone new to the trade. That is the whole scope.

The hard jobs are still where a machinist earns their keep. LATHE-NC takes the daily grind that sits in front of them.
